Oh hey dress, fancy seeing you again! In my most recent post, I gave this dress a casual make-under. Toned down the softness of this twirl dress with a denim vest, studded flats and a sloppy side braid. It was the perfect ‘run my errands’ kind of weekend outfit. And if you know me by now, you know that I love transforming pieces between work and play. It’s just a mental way for me to justify any purchase. Two (or more!) for the price of one.
I don’t know about your office but mine is at a constant cold temperature. Can’t they turn the temp up a degree or two? This always leads me to incorporate a blazer or cardi with the outfit du jour. But I couldn’t bear putting something over this gorgeous printed dress. Instead, I added a crisp white shirt, letting this number shine! Actually, one of my favorite ways to wear a sleeveless dress to the office is to add a long layer underneath. If you have solid dress, pick a printed long sleeve. If it’s a printed dress, choose a solid. It’s all about balance and what you are comfortable with!
Outfit Details:
Aviators: Prada Outlet (old – similar, $145).
Roman Waves Twirl Dress: Nic +Zoe. Back in April, I stopped by an event at the Nic + Zoe pop-up in the Pru, hosted by the ever so lovely Kristen (The Boston Fashionista). As I left the event, I grammed a photo that won me this dress!
White Button Down: This was custom-made a few years ago during a trip to Hong Kong. I would recommend the BR fittend non-iron basketweave shirt ($79.50), if you are in the market for a crisp white shirt.
Emerald Flower Necklace: Rachael Ryen. This necklace was part of the winning package previously mentioned. I am one lucky gal! Use code SUMMER at checkout and save 30%.
Bracelets: Alex and Ani, $24-$38.
So Fresh Clutch: French Connection from Saks Off 5th, $48.99 (sale).
Black Studded Pumps: Banana Republic (Ninah). These pumps were way marked down in the store. After an in-store discount, I got them for a whopping $41.99! Unfortunately, they are sold out, but there are other colors and prints to choose from.
